Certificate Issuance and Usage

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide clarity about how the certificates are issued and used by the Candidate, EduClasses® employees, Regulatory Health Authorities, and external entities.

Scope

Certified Food Protection Manager certificates are issued to candidates seeking food manager certification upon completion of the proctored Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) assessment.

Definitions

  • “Certificate” – defined as a document issued after successful completion of CBT exam.
  • “Certificate issuance” – defined as the act of delivering a certificate via Food Managers Certification CFPM examination.
  • “Certificate usage” – understood to mean the intended use of the certificate by the food manager candidate with regards to regulatory health official’s requirements.
  • “Proctor” – external entity that provides a safe and secure location for verifying, administering and monitoring the candidate during the taking of the CFPM assessment.
  • “Successful completion” – understood to mean the receipt of a passing score or percentage upon completion of the proctored online exam, the baseline of which is defined by cut score (passing score) committee.
     

Examination completion and certificate issuance

Examination completion and certificate issuance are based upon several factors:

  • Candidate has properly signed-up and completed their profile
  • Candidate has purchased the examination in need or entered codes from a group order made on their behalf
  • Exam Assessment
    • Candidate will arrange assessment schedule date and time with Proctor at Proctor Testing Center
    • On assessment date Candidate will be verifired at Proctor Testing Center
    • Proctor will launch and monitor process of Candidate assessment
    • Candidate will have 1 opportunity to pass the exam
    • Candidate must pass the exam by achieving the minimal passing score
  • Once Candidate has passed the exam, they will then be issued a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certificate.
  • The Candidate can access the certificate for viewing / printing any time during the validity of the certificate.
  • Once the certificate has expired, the Candidate will have to purchase and pass the proctored assessment again before accessing their new FMC® Food Managers Certification CFPM certificate.
     

Certificate Validity:

  • The FMC® CFPM certificate will be issued upon passing the CFPM examination.
  • The certificate shall be valid for no more than 5 years.

Certificate Usage:

  • Please Note: Certificate use is defined and dictated by regulatory authorities, state or local laws or regulations, and /or legislative documents.
  • Candidates must present their certificate to their employer.  A copy of the certificate is to be kept at the employee’s place of business.
  • Candidates may print their Certified Food Protection Manager certificates upon successful completion of the examination from their account.
  • Candidates use their Certified Food Protection Manager certificate to provide proof of satisfactory completion of the Certified Food Protection Manager proctored assessment to their employer and health department.
  • Candidates may reprint their certificate from FoodManagersCertification.com at any time during the validity of the FMC® CFPM certificate.  Sample reasons for reprinting their certificate would be: change of employment or lost certificate.
